Director of Finance

ando is a federally registered non-profit organization that is Indigenous-led, community-based, and membership-driven. Cando works to build and strengthen Indigenous economies by providing education, professional development, and networking opportunities for Economic Development Officers (EDOs) working in Indigenous Community Economic Development.

Cando is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic financial leader with strong experience in project-based accounting, funder reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and finance operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will manage Cando's finance function and support accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations and supporting day-to-day accounting functions.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field

• CPA designation preferred

• AFOA Canada certification (CAFM) considered an asset

• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience

• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role

• Experience with project-based accounting, funder reporting, budgeting, payroll oversight, audit coordination, internal controls, and cash flow management

• Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) preferred

• Advanced proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

• Sage 300 experience considered an asset

• Knowledge of Indigenous peoples, communities, and culture considered an asset

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Health and dental benefits available upon successful completion of the probationary period.
