Summary
Solico Metal is seeking a motivated and organized Production Coordinator to support our manufacturing operations in Calgary, Alberta. This role is responsible for coordinating production activities, maintaining production records, and assisting communication between departments to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily production activities and assist in maintaining production schedules.
- Monitor production progress and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Communicate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to support efficient workflow.
- Assist in tracking material availability and communicate shortages or delays to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure current drawings and production information are available to supervisors and shop personnel.
- Support Quality Control activities and help address production issues to minimize delays and rework.
- Track project milestones and provide status updates to management as required.
- Assist with inventory monitoring and basic material planning activities.
- Identify workflow issues and communicate opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production coordination, or a related role.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and inventory control.
- Experience with ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication or industrial manufacturing is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
