Poundmaker’s Lodge Treatment Centres is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and grounded Program Attendant to support clients during evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, structured, and respectful environment where individuals can focus on healing and recovery.

The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, emotional awareness, and a calm, steady presence. This position is well suited to individuals who value relationship-based work, clear boundaries, and contributing meaningfully to the well-being of others.

About the Role

Program Attendants provide non-counselling, hands-on support to clients outside of regular business hours. You will help uphold daily routines, support participation in programming, and ensure client safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.

This role requires attentiveness, empathy, consistency, and the ability to respond thoughtfully in emotionally sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Care

  • Provide respectful, non-judgmental support to clients in recovery

  • Maintain a calm and reassuring presence during evenings and weekends

  • Encourage participation in scheduled programming and activities

  • Support new client intakes using established procedures

  • Offer positive, strengths-based feedback that supports personal growth

  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards

Safety & Well-Being

  • Conduct regular room and security checks

  • Enforce house rules with fairness and consistency

  • Safely dispense and document medications as per directives

  • Respond appropriately to client concerns, emotional distress, or conflict

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding client needs

Program & Operations Support

  • Facilitate or initiate programming when required

  • Transport clients to approved meetings, ceremonies, and activities

  • Maintain accurate documentation (daily logs, incident reports, overviews)

  • Manage front desk duties including phones, visitors, and sign-in protocols

  • Prepare shift summaries and ensure program materials are stocked and organized

Experience in residential care, healthcare, social services, or community support is an asset, but we welcome applicants with transferable life or work experience who demonstrate empathy, responsibility, and emotional maturity.
