Scope
As a Warehouse & Field Technician, the employee shall support all departments in the branch by ensuring the Warehouse is clean, organized and stocked and will also be responsible to collaborate with all departments to ensure the efficient and accurate movement of inventory and assets as required.
Position Reports To: Warehouse Manager or Supervisor depending on the location
Role and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
·Shipping & Receiving
o Ship and receive multiple shipments of medical equipment from suppliers for stock and customer special orders using various inventory tracking and shipping software tools.
o Prepare and receive transfers of equipment from other National Seating & Mobility (NSM) locations.
o Notify Customer service Representatives and Seating & Mobility Specialists when items have arrived.
o Report damage, discrepancies upon receipt to manager.
o Create shipping orders and labels.
o Assist in the receipt, processing and unpacking of inventory.
o Field Technician
o Deliver, set up and install products at customers’ homes and facilities, including electric beds, walkers, raised toilet seats and others.
o Provide in-store and out-of-store customer service, including assistance with the selection of medical products by customers and liaison with therapists.
o Deliver equipment and ensure it is complete and in proper working order and instruct customers on how to adequately use the equipment.
o Pick up equipment from customer residences, ensuring that all components of the equipment being returned are not damaged.
o Inform customers of additional charges if the equipment to be picked up is damaged or requires cleaning.
o Attend appointments at the time reserved, contact the office if appointments are running late, and return to the office to perform in-store duties when appointments are complete.
o Resolve customer difficulties and build customer relations.
o Repair and adjust equipment or coordinate repairs with in-store technicians. Assist with cleaning and disinfection of rental and demonstration equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.).
o Return equipment to the right location in the warehouse.
o Ensure all equipment has a barcode and is identifiable with an NSM label.
o Assist other technicians when asked, including with delivery of equipment to customers and assist with repairs.
Ensure, in conjunction with other technicians and staff, that the warehouse is maintained in an orderly fashion with all inventory items appropriately cleaned and stored.
Install grab bars in customers’ homes.
Develop continual education through product literature and in-house training on new products and services.
· Process Mobility Devices and Equipment
o Put inventory away in the warehouse in a timely manner
o Organize the warehouse to ensure efficiency
o Examine equipment returned from rental for damage or missing components
o Clean and disinfect equipment returned from rental or demonstration
o Track down medical equipment for customers from our other locations
o Assemble motorized beds, lift out chairs, commodes, and other home medical devices
· Additional Support
o Participate in monthly workplace H&S inspection
o Cleaning duties: floor, high rack frames, etc. Outside clearance of snow as required
o Remove cardboard and bagged garbage from the warehouse
o Add and remove products as directed
o Assist sales or service personnel as needed
o Assist the other technicians with parts and other medical equipment stocks
o Learn new products to help identify equipment and components by attending in-store training sessions.
· Health & Safety
o Awareness of public safety and security measures in place to prevent injuries
o Understand how to dispose of hazardous waste materials in a safe manner
Other duties as assigned that include inventory or any other task.
Competencies/Skills
· Basic mathematical skills
· Regularly manipulate items up to 75 lbs.
· Ability to climb ladders and rolling staircases
· Experience operating pallet pump trucks
· Creative troubleshooter and problem solver
· Good verbal communication skills
· Good attention to detail
· Proven record for organizing and prioritizing daily tasks
· Barcoding experience
· Computer savvy and knowledge of MS Office
· Experienced working safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
